Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), also known as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), is a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) method used to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and some nickel and cobalt alloys.
Our method works by magnetizing the test component and applying fine magnetic particles to its surface. If a defect such as a crack, seam, lap, or inclusion is present, it disturbs the magnetic field and creates a magnetic flux leakage field, attracting the particles and forming a visible indication of the defect.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT/MPI) is one of the most widely used NDT methods for detecting surface and slightly subsurface defects in ferromagnetic materials.
